आमची गोष्ट · our story

THE2WINS was born in the Khochare family kitchen in Sangli — started by Mrs. Khochare and run together with her husband, Captain Mahesh Khochare (Retd.).

“After 25 years in the Indian Defence Forces, the Captain came home — and turned the family's sugarcane fields into turmeric fields.”

Not as a gesture, but as proof to every farmer in the belt that the switch pays. Together, the couple carries what those fields grow, from the farm gate to your kitchen shelf.

प्रत्येक बरणीची गोष्ट · the journey

Eight scenes from field to shelf

Every jar walks the same road — so we had the road drawn, scene by scene, the way it deserves to be told.

  1. Illustration of a retired soldier walking home into his village at sunrise, duffel bag over his shoulder
घरवापसीThe homecomingAfter twenty-five years in uniform, Captain Khochare walks back into his village with one question: why do the farmers who feed everyone earn the least?
  2. Illustration of two farmers kneeling in ploughed black soil, planting turmeric rhizomes in neat rows
पेरणीPlanting the changeThe family's own sugarcane fields are the first to take turmeric seed — proof before persuasion.
  3. Illustration of a farmer inspecting lush rows of broad-leafed turmeric plants as monsoon clouds part
शेत हिरवं होतंThe fields turn greenMonsoon rows of broad-leafed haldi where cane once stood — the same black soil, earning more per acre.
  4. Illustration of a farmer's cupped hands lifting fresh orange turmeric rhizomes from the soil, harvesters behind
काढणीThe harvestFresh rhizomes lifted from the earth with the soil still clinging — the season the whole village works.
  5. Illustration of village women spreading boiled turmeric fingers on woven mats to dry in a sunny courtyard
वाळवणBoiled, then sun-driedBoiled in the courtyard pot and dried on woven mats in the open sun — no polish, no colour, no hurry.
  6. Illustration of farmers stirring a huge open pan of bubbling golden jaggery over a wood fire at night
गुऱ्हाळThe jaggery nightCane juice slow-cooked in the open pan until it sets golden — no washing soda, no bleach, just heat and patience.
  7. Illustration of a loaded bullock cart leaving the village at dawn on a winding road toward a distant town
गावाकडून घराकडेFarm to homeSacks and jars leave the village at first light — collected direct from the field, no mandi in between.
  8. Illustration of a mother stirring golden haldi doodh in a brass pot while two children wait at the table
स्वयंपाकघरThe second winHaldi doodh on the stove, gur on the shelf — the same harvest ends at your family’s table.

सण आणि समारंभ · celebrations

Every festival here begins with gur

Tilgul at Sankranti, puran poli for the festive table, chikki for Diwali faral — the Maharashtrian festival calendar is sweetened with jaggery, never refined sugar. Cook this year's plate from the same jars the village celebrates with.
